Eielson AFB Alaska had five T-33’s until late 1981 when they were transferred down to Elmendorf AFB. I spent some time working on the T-Birds at Eielson, and the plane has been a favorite ever since. This was a tough patch to get even for those in the squadron.

You are a lucky man: There were only five T-33s assigned to Eielson AFB and that patch is not easy to come by!

Can I ask – when were you at Eielson? My dad was there maybe 1978?? Both my parents have passed so I can’t know for sure.

I was at Eielson, 1981-82. Unfortunately, the name is unfamiliar after all these years. Great place was Eielson!
